This week's pick is the symphonic deathcore band Winds of Plague. They're a bit like Bleeding Through in that both bands have a female keyboard player but much more brutal. They vary from straight up thrash riffs to all out death dirges...sometimes within the same song.<br /><br />Beneath the power chords and growls there is a constant undertone of keyboard/synth. It isn't too obtrusive and adds an epic quality to the music along the same lines of the soundtrack from Lord of the Rings. If you like pure metalcore/death then this might not be for you. The symphonic elments are subtle but still lend to a very distinct sound. Prefer the album Shades over the older album Juggernaut. It's a bit more dynamic. Another pick coming next week.
